Actions/ Therapeutic Uses
Bronchodilator, Antitussive, Expectorant, Antispasmodic, Blood purifier, Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Germicide, Anti- paralytic and concoctive (for phlegm). Useful for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, tuberculosis, cold and cough, sore throat, leprosy, blood disorders, heart troubles, fever, vomiting, loss of memory, jaundice, tumours, mouth troubles, sore-eye and gonorrhoea. Juice of the leaves is recommended in fever and rheumatism. Fresh juice of the leaves is given in dose of about 12 gms. with addition of honey and long pepper in cough and phthisis. Flowers, leaves and roots are frequently regarded as antiseptic (when used internally).

Doses
Fruit juice 5-10 ml, Decoction 50-100 ml, Flowers 500 mg- 1 gm. Root bark powder 250-500 mg – 3 gms.
